Why don’t you just read their advertising? And, if their product information doesn’t make that clear, maybe you should think twice before wasting your money.
ALL SUPPLEMENTS FOR BUILDING MUSCLE AND BURNING FAT ARE SCAMS.
Dietary supplements do not have to conform to the stringent standards applied to pharmaceuticals or food products by the US FDA. The result of this absence of oversight has been a scammer’s dream and the scammers have made the most of it. A huge and powerful supplement industry has grown up around this lack of government oversight which was designed to give people the freedom to explore homeopathic, naturopathic, and alternative remedies. That was the purpose of the 1994 DSHEA. Details are here –> http://www.fda.gov/food/dietarysupplements/consumerinformation/ucm110417.htm
Here’s how the scammers work. They flood the internet with ads, bogus reviews, fake articles, fraudulent scientific white papers, phony blogs, scam articles, and even scam stories designed to expose the competition while promoting their products as the only “real” supplement that works. Their strategy is to drown out the truth and dominate the search engines so no matter where you look on the web you’ll find only good things about their products. Check out this link about the big Shakeology scam —> http://trek2befit.com/shakeology-scam . Did you notice how it’s really just an ad for Shakeology. The reason you find it when you search for “Shakeology scam” is because they want to be everywhere you’re looking with advertising. That’s how scammers dominate the internet.
Watch this investigative report from CBS News to see how one scammer works. –> http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=5196740n&tag=related;photovideo (you’ll have to sit through a quick commercial message first).
Scammers target the young and credulous demographic because they know they can sway them with greater ease than the older, wiser buying public. But, there are some easy questions you can answer using simple logic to be able to qualify a scammer as suspect. Here are some examples.
• If there was an easy way to do hard things like burn fat or build muscle, why doesn’t the whole world know about it? How could that be kept secret when that’s what so many people desire?
• If there were supplements that could help burn fat or build muscle, why haven’t the huge and powerful pharmaceutical companies taken them over? Why let the scammers like GNC and Weider continue to make $ millions off the public when they have a much greater capacity for providing such products?
• If there was a supplement that helped people shed pounds, why doesn’t your doctor know about it? If you’re overweight, why doesn’t your physician just give you the pill or recommend the acai or HCG diet or whatever? Why are physicians always telling the same story about obesity and how to cope with it?
• Why do people pay big bucks to have liposuction or stomach stapling if supplements could really help them to lose fat?
• If protein supplements, creatine, nitrous oxide, etc. really helped build lean muscle mass, why don’t Olympic athletes use them? Why don’t they feed them to our military personnel in boot camp or billets around the world? Why are they not used in every police department or correctional institution around the US? Why don’t the scammers tell you their success stories? You will never see an endorsement of a supplement from the military. You will, however, find many military articles warning their people away from such trickery. Here’s one example –> http://military-fitness.military.com/2011/03/sneaky-muscle-supplement-scams.html
There is only one good answer to all of these questions. Most of the supplements which are supposed to make you lose fat, add muscle, grow taller, kill appetite, gain weight, bulk up, get ripped, etc. just don’t work. It’s really that simple.
Check out this list of over 60 dangerous supplements products sold with bogus advertising claims which scam-site bodybuilding.com was forced to recall and take off the market –> http://www.usrecallnews.com/2009/11/bodybuilding-com-supplements-recalled-may-contain-steroids.html . Does the human race really need 60 supplements just for muscle building and thousands of other supplements for other things? Can 100,000 years of evolution and eating food really be that wrong?
When surfing the web for supplements, be skeptical, use critical thinking, and always validate your information before believing it to be true. The golden rule for intelligent consumerism is still…
If it sounds too good to be true, it’s probably a scam.

Here’s the loose skin story.
When people lose substantial amounts of body fat, the skin may become loose. Whether the skin will tighten after fat loss will depend on many things. However, two predominate.
1. Stretching only – If the skin is loose because it was stretched but not beyond it’s natural elasticity, it will tighten of its own accord over time. That process will happen in a few weeks to months.
2. New skin cells – If the skin was stretched beyond it’s natural elasticity, it will have grown new skin cells in response to the tension. And, when new skin cells have been added, they will not go away when the fat is lost. In that case, the skin may remain loose.
It may help you to appreciate the amount of new skin growth of which the body is capable if you go here –> http://www.foreskinrestore.com/results_1-24months.html and compare the pictures of the before and after pictures of penis foreskin restoration.
Fat distribution also plays a role in the loose skin problem. If the fat loss was predominantly in one area (eg: the waist area), the skin will have stretched more than if the fat loss was more uniformly distributed over the body. People who have lost most of the fat from one area will be more likely to have residual loose skin than those who lost a small amount of fat from a wide area.
In most cases of nominal (not extreme) fat loss, both 1. and 2. may apply. In other words, the skin may tighten somewhat and remain slightly looser. Because elasticity decreases with age, in older people it is more likely the skin will remain loose for a given amount of fat loss. And, of course, the greater the fat loss, the more the skin has been stretched and the less likely it will be to return to the same tightness it had prior to the fat gain.
As a crude rule of thumb, a young person who loses only <30% of their weight will not have loose skin. Those losing 30-60% of their weight will likely have some loose skin. And those who lose>60% will probably have undesirable loose skin.
Loose skin which does not resolve naturally cannot be tightened. It must be removed surgically. There are no wraps, creams, spa treatments, drugs, chemicals, herbals, etc. that can make skin shrink. However, adding muscle to increase body volume can help tighten the skin.
For more about post-fat loss skin, go here –> http://www.livestrong.com/loose-skin-after-weight-loss/ .However, bear in mind that fact that most of those things said in the Mayo Clinic articles refer to very small amounts of amelioration. For example, losing fat slowly will help prevent loose skin but not by much. It is always important to be aware of whether the information you are given is qualitative or quantitative.
You are young and only need to lose 22% of your bodyweight so you should not have a problem with loose skin. However, if you loose much from your boobs, you can expect them to sag slightly more. Breasts are an anatomically unique feature inasmuch as they are covered with skin but the skin is not stretched over muscle or subcutaneous fat. They tend to sag in women with large breasts naturally so any loss of breast fat will result to a corresponding degree of pendulousness.
Good luck and good health!!

Does exercising on a low carb diet like Kimkins affect weight loss results?
Question by Jessica: Does exercising on a low carb diet like Kimkins affect weight loss results?
I haven’t really been following the diet to a tee but only the breakfast part, I’m doing the boot camp part of the diet and I’ve been eating my Activia yogurts and a banana for breakfast because eggs make me sick as well as meat in the morning and I just substitute with those. Well, I do 30 min of cardio on the elliptical, I don’t overwork myself or anything. My weight didn’t come down when I was exervicing but I haven’t exercised for 4 days and I’ve dropped 5 lbs. Is the exercise affecting weight loss or am I in ketosis and it’s starting to do its magic? I’d like to continue exercise if it won’t interfere.

Answer by rubyshatters
Exercise will not slow weight loss, on any diet. It boosts your metabolism and keeps it from slowing down when your diet changes- so it’s very good to do. The 5 lb. weight loss is likely from ketosis, but I must warn you. I tried lowe carb dieting- and after about a month of feeling awful all the time, I discovered it wasn’t worth it. What will work in the long term is doing like you are doing- but do not be afraid to have whole grains, because fiber is important. A diet full of salads, whole grains, fruits, veggies, and lean meat will pave the way to long term weight loss- and your body will feel better for it.

Best diet and exercise routine for stomach fat?
Question by Jayla2131: Best diet and exercise routine for stomach fat?
I have been working out for almost a year now. I do dance, zumba, and a type of “boot camp” class, which consists of mostly lunges, squats, sit-ups, push-ups, etc. I do not follow an extremely strict diet, but I do not have an unhealthy diet either. I do not drink soda, eat red meat, a lot of bread or sweets. I did have 3 children before I started going to the gym, and I am in pretty good shape at the moment. However, even though I am working out I just cannot get rid of the little tummy! Please any advice including exercises or diets are welcome. Thank you.

A diet to get a flat stomach can be highly effective. There are many ways to lose weight specifically in the mid section of the body.
•Eat healthier and cut down junk food, such as replacing sweets and chips with fruits.
•Eat smaller meals a day. To get a flat stomach you should eat many small meals throughout the day. Eat just enough until you feel full; don’t overeat and know which flat-belly foods actually work
•Eating raw foods are to avoid the loss of enzymes that result from cooking food, which also decreases its nutritional value.
•Cardio exercises are best as they will heat up your core temperature and improve circulation, both of which will aid you in acquiring a flat stomach. You should aim for interval cardio training, such as alternating between sprinting and power walking. You can try sprinting for as long as you can. When you become too tired, you should walk. When you feel that you’ve caught your breath, sprint again. Do these alterations for a total of 20 minutes at a time.
•Some strength training exercises are Squats Lunges leg lifts and crunches.

How to balance University life with weight loss goals?
Question by 432221: How to balance University life with weight loss goals?
Any advice would be appreciated. I would live to lose weight while in university and not gain a pound, but it’s harder since my workload is so full I feel like any time dedicated to exercising or cooking proper meals (am not living on my own) should be spent on studying. Is it better to just to ditch studying for exercise and eating and cooking healthier? I think I might be on the verge of failing university (First year).
It feels like academic achievement comes at the price of health.
