I haven&#8217;t really been following the diet to a tee but only the breakfast part, I&#8217;m doing the boot camp part of the diet and I&#8217;ve been eating my Activia yogurts and a banana for breakfast because eggs make me sick as well as meat in the morning and I just substitute with those. Well, I do 30 min of cardio on the elliptical, I don&#8217;t overwork myself or anything. My weight didn&#8217;t come down when I was exervicing but I haven&#8217;t exercised for 4 days and I&#8217;ve dropped 5 lbs. Is the exercise affecting weight loss or am I in ketosis and it&#8217;s starting to do its magic? I&#8217;d like to continue exercise if it won&#8217;t interfere.</p>

<p><i>Answer by rubyshatters</i><br/>Exercise will not slow weight loss, on any diet. It boosts your metabolism and keeps it from slowing down when your diet changes- so it&#8217;s very good to do. The 5 lb. weight loss is likely from ketosis, but I must warn you. I tried lowe carb dieting- and after about a month of feeling awful all the time, I discovered it wasn&#8217;t worth it. What will work in the long term is doing like you are doing- but do not be afraid to have whole grains, because fiber is important. A diet full of salads, whole grains, fruits, veggies, and lean meat will pave the way to long term weight loss- and your body will feel better for it.</p>

I have been working out for almost a year now.  I do dance, zumba, and a type of &#8220;boot camp&#8221; class, which consists of mostly lunges, squats, sit-ups, push-ups, etc.  I do not follow an extremely strict diet, but I do not have an unhealthy diet either.  I do not drink soda, eat red meat, a lot of bread or sweets.  I did have 3 children before I started going to the gym, and I am in pretty good shape at the moment.  However, even though I am working out I just cannot get rid of the little tummy! Please any advice including exercises or diets are welcome.  Thank you.</p>

<p><i>Answer by Jesse</i><br/>A diet to get a flat stomach can be highly effective. There are many ways to lose weight specifically in the mid section of the body.<br />
•Eat healthier and cut down junk food, such as replacing sweets and chips with fruits.<br />
•Eat smaller meals a day. To get a flat stomach you should eat many small meals throughout the day. Eat just enough until you feel full; don&#8217;t overeat and know which flat-belly foods actually work<br />
•Eating raw foods are to avoid the loss of enzymes that result from cooking food, which also decreases its nutritional value.<br />
•Cardio exercises are best as they will heat up your core temperature and improve circulation, both of which will aid you in acquiring a flat stomach. You should aim for interval cardio training, such as alternating between sprinting and power walking. You can try sprinting for as long as you can. When you become too tired, you should walk. When you feel that you&#8217;ve caught your breath, sprint again. Do these alterations for a total of 20 minutes at a time.<br />
•Some strength training exercises are Squats Lunges leg lifts and crunches.</p>

Any advice would be appreciated.  I would live to lose weight while in university and not gain a pound, but it&#8217;s  harder since my workload is so full I feel like any time dedicated to exercising or cooking proper meals (am not living on my own) should be spent on studying.  Is it better to just to ditch studying for exercise and eating and cooking healthier?  I think I might be on the verge of failing university (First year).<br />
It feels like academic achievement comes at the price of health.</p>

<p><i>Answer by Watching it all fall!!!</i><br/>First 10 lbs in 4 days isn&#8217;t possible if your already lean. If you are obese it&#8217;s quite possible but even then the 10lbs in weight would not be all fat but probably a little bit of everything from water weight to muscle loss.</p>

I&#8217;m 5&#8242; 2&#8243; and weigh about 124 pounds. I don&#8217;t think I look overweight, but I would like to get back down to around 110 pounds. I&#8217;ve been trying to eat well and exercise but it just doesn&#8217;t seem to be coming off the way I want it to. I was thinking of joining weight watchers for the summer, but I&#8217;m not sure if it&#8217;s a bad idea since I don&#8217;t want to lose THAT much weight. Has anyone ever joined the program to lose about 10-20 pounds? Is it worth it or can I find the points online without joining?<br />
PS- I&#8217;ve done weight watchers in the past by just following my mom&#8217;s booklet and it worked very well, but we don&#8217;t have the book anymore. </p>
<p>Also, I would just use it as a way to jumpstart my weight loss. In general, I eat very healthy, so I doubt I will gain the weight back once I stop the program.</p>

<p><i>Answer by Lydia</i><br/>People join Weight Watchers not just to lose weight but to also learn how to keep a healthy lifestyle so they don&#8217;t have problems down the road.  Many people join just to lose a few pounds.  I highly suggest Weight Watchers.  If you follow their plan it is a very healthy way to live.<br />
You might want to join their forum.  It&#8217;s free.  Of course they can&#8217;t give you point info but it would give you added support you may need to get you going and to stay on track.</p>
