I want to build muscle mass. I have a bench and a lat pull down came with it, I have barbells and dumbbells, I can also use my body weight.

Question by Pernille: How to eat on gluten free diet?
I’m thinking on going on a gluten free diet, because my mom said, that she had read, that some dentist had found out, that if you get a lot of blisters in your mouth, which I do, you might have be allergic to gluten. But what can you actually eat? And what can you not eat? It seems like you can eat almost nothing, but can you give me a list of all the things i can/can’t eat?
Also, I’ve heard that you lose weight from it, and I think that’s a plus, because I would love to loose weight, but do you gain it later on, when your body gets used to it? Cause then it doesn’t really help anyway?

There are some great guidelines about gluten-free diets- what’s allowed and what’s not- at this Mayo Clinic link:
The Mayo Clinic gives instructions on what foods are good, what ones to always avoid, and which ones you should read the label on first. There are also a number of great links at the bottom of the article, on how to eat healthy and gluten-free. A big risk on gluten-free diets is not getting enough vitamins, like iron and calcium. Be sure your diet plan incorporates ways for you to get the vitamins you need to stay healthy.

Here they have meal plans, all the way down to snacks and treats, and you can adjust it for your caloric intake.
As to the second part of your question, about a gluten-free diet and weight loss, there is no long-term scientific study that has made a connection between the gluten-free diet and weight loss:
Although some people who adhere to the gluten-free diet do lose weight, its because they substitute gluten-laden foods with other foods lower in calories. There is some evidence that wheat and wheat byproducts do increase weight gain in a segment of the population who are genetically predisposed it.
To sum it up, there are definitely ways to stay on a gluten-free diet and eat healthy, and there are plenty of websites that offer great meals and shopping tips. Just be sure to monitor your daily intake of vitamins, to keep yourself in the best health possible!
