I haven’t really been following the diet to a tee but only the breakfast part, I’m doing the boot camp part of the diet and I’ve been eating my Activia yogurts and a banana for breakfast because eggs make me sick as well as meat in the morning and I just substitute with those. Well, I do 30 min of cardio on the elliptical, I don’t overwork myself or anything. My weight didn’t come down when I was exervicing but I haven’t exercised for 4 days and I’ve dropped 5 lbs. Is the exercise affecting weight loss or am I in ketosis and it’s starting to do its magic? I’d like to continue exercise if it won’t interfere.

Exercise will not slow weight loss, on any diet. It boosts your metabolism and keeps it from slowing down when your diet changes- so it’s very good to do. The 5 lb. weight loss is likely from ketosis, but I must warn you. I tried lowe carb dieting- and after about a month of feeling awful all the time, I discovered it wasn’t worth it. What will work in the long term is doing like you are doing- but do not be afraid to have whole grains, because fiber is important. A diet full of salads, whole grains, fruits, veggies, and lean meat will pave the way to long term weight loss- and your body will feel better for it.

I have been steadily losing weight and am 19 lbs. lighter. However, over the past week, I have stopped losing. I haven’t changed my diet. What do I need to do to get the weight loss started again?

Just remain on your diet & stop jumping on the scales every day! You body needs time to adjust to the change. The next time you weigh yourself (or later), you will see a weight reduction. BE PATIENT!

How to balance University life with weight loss goals?

Any advice would be appreciated. I would live to lose weight while in university and not gain a pound, but it’s harder since my workload is so full I feel like any time dedicated to exercising or cooking proper meals (am not living on my own) should be spent on studying. Is it better to just to ditch studying for exercise and eating and cooking healthier? I think I might be on the verge of failing university (First year).
It feels like academic achievement comes at the price of health.

I don’t need any other hateful comment because i have already gotten by far WAY to many.
I am 16 and trying to lose weight, i weigh 142 pounds and i am 5’7-5’8.
I am trying to get a flat stomach but i have a HORRIBLE metabolism, i don’t process food quick enough and i have been constipated for about 2 years now. Better yet, here are my goals…
-Flat stomach
-Get Rid of some under arm flab
-Get Rid of chubby cheeks
-Lift butt up a bit
-Get Rid of inner thigh fat
-Get rid of back flab
I do not eat fast food (i hate it), i don’t eat white bread, i don’t drink regular milk (only soy), i eat healthy fiber snacks for the constipation, i don’t eat fattening foods..
I also have a membership at the YMCA and i am planning on going for 1 hour and a half, 5 days a week.
The only thing is, i don’t know what exercises to do to reach my goals or i should take any other source of fiber or if i should have another healthy diet plan.
I really need your help please let me know what exercises i should do in order to reach my goals for the summer which is in about 5 months and i really need to know a diet plan (if needed) and fiber tips.
(Also- how much water should i be taking in a day and calories)

I see all of these weight loss challenges scattered throughout the internet, but they usually only have a start and end date with no rules. Are you supposed to come up with an individual plan and then join the challenge for however long it lasts for? What is a challenge?!

I have never done one of those weight loss challenges, because I personally like to diet and exercise at my own pace. However, I would imagine that you can google the name of the weight loss challenge (e.g Jenny Craig) and you should be directed to the website explaining what happens in the challenge. Every weight loss program/challenge is different.

I have been on a strict weight loss program. I eat generally healthy and go to the gym 5 to 6 times a week and about three times with a personal trainer.
However, soon I am planning on getting into birth control pills. I have been told that your hormones go crazy with the pills… Would this affect my weight loss? I know it reacts differently with each woman… but what are the possibilities?

pills dont work, have a lot of side effects and are expensive, fix your diet(cut carbs if you eat too much) and replace with fruits and veggies and start working out
